Penrod Marketing is a single member LLC founded by Torey Penrod-Cambra in Portland, Maine in 2018. Penrod Marketing provides technology companies with the catalytic consulting services they need to transform their go-to-market strategy, improve brand awareness and reputation, drive demand, and ultimately meet revenue goals.
Penrod Marketing is proudly located in northern New England—fueled by the traits of transparency, accountability, resourcefulness, and authenticity that define this region. Penrod Marketing is on a mission to accelerate the burgeoning tech startup scene by pollinating new-venture leaders with the ideas, resources, and creativity they need to succeed from seed to sale.
Torey Penrod-Cambra is a marketing professional with more than twelve years of experience creating compelling brand experiences that drive customer acquisition and expansion. She combines her academic achievements in Chemistry with her lifelong passion for the arts to create a holistic approach to marketing that balances analytics with creativity.
Torey’s career began with a focus on biotechnology and international pharmaceutical product launches, and evolved into a fast-climbing career in B2B industrial software. She most recently served as the Vice President of Marketing for PTC, a global software company helping companies design, manufacture, operate, and service things for a smart, connected world. Torey has the unique perspective of having worked for international agencies, boutique agencies, small companies, and enterprise corporations—giving her the ability to truly empathize with a wide variety of clients.
Her passion for marketing innovative technology is fueled by the people and company culture that create it. She is active in the Portland, Maine startup and tech community, and will be a judge on Greenlight Maine Collegiate Edition airing Spring 2019.

The process begins with a one-hour complimentary consultation to better understand the client’s business, challenges, and goals—and determine if the engagement will be a good mutual fit. Clients can expect to receive a Statement of Work that documents key activities, timeline, and investment proposal that will enable the company to meet its marketing objectives.
Then the fun begins.
Penrod Marketing uses a 360-degree approach to speak with key stakeholders (including customers and partners, when possible) to learn more about the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This exercise exposes key insights and helps clarify future messaging and persona work.
Penrod Marketing also collaborates with clients to create a baseline report of quantitative and qualitative marketing metrics that matter most to the business. Then, working in close collaboration with executives, sales, business development, product management, and/or finance, Penrod Marketing will set goals to improve marketing performance and contribution to revenue. A data-driven approach is used to understand where the business is today, set goals for where it should be tomorrow—and most importantly, help clients incrementally test and revise their campaigns to ensure peak performance and return on investment.
